Would a marshal at a medieval banquet wear this?

I need to know because we're going to have a 'banquet' in world history. 10 points to whoever gives me a general idea quickly, costume rental open at the Little Theater on Friday.

I wasn't really sure about what category to go in, so I figure theatre experts would know best about costumes.

The office of Marshal (also known as the Mareschal), was one of prestige.
A Marshal was a Baron/Earl, a Knight of the highest caliber, with hereditary rights to the office. He would have defended those rights by judicial combat (a fight to the death); as did Sir Gilbert Marshal and his son Sir John Marshal.
Sir William Marshal (son of Sir John Marshal, above) was the most famous Knight and Marshal in all of Englands history.
At age 40, he married one of Englands wealthiest heiresses, Isabella De Clare.
Sir William Marshal served 5 Kings and 1 Queen of England, Knighted 2 Kings, was directly responsible for convincing King John to sign the Magna Carta, served as Regent during King Johns minor sons reign, and fought his last battle at age 70.

I believe Sir William would have approved your choice of attire.
