Frame Mat
What color/style mat & frame would go best with a pencil sketch?
I have a 16x20 commissioned sketch on 100lb bristol with a vellum finish. I would like to mat & frame it CHEAPLY and yet I want it to look CLASSY.
What size mat and frame will I need?
What colors/styles of mats and frames would look best with a plain pencil sketch?
PLEASE give me as detailed a response as possible - this is an important gift for someone returning home from overseas to live in his new home. THANK YOU!!
i would go with a plain black wooden frame.
do you really need a matting? if possile, i would leave it out. if you feel that you really need one, i'd go with pale, off white (not too yellow, not too beige, not too grey). and iff you do decide to go with a matting, i don't think you should get one that's too big.
you don't really want the frame to take away the focus from the picture.
