How can I make a yellow brick road for my drama club production?
I am a drama club instructor for a local middle school. We are doing The Wizard of Oz and I need a yellow brick road! It has to be long and we can;t afford a carpet. Also, paper would rip far too easily. Any affordable, nice looking ideas that are durable and won't trip the kids? Thanks so much!
You've got a couple of options, and I don't know how cheap you're looking to go.
Paper does rip easily. But you can put down newsprint in layers, tape it, and paint it, and throw some sand on as it dries for a non-skip factor, and that will help. Use a roller, paint many coats.
Another option is plastic sheeting. Try hardware stores in your area.
The best one I've ever seen was on yellow felt, from a cloth store- it was sold by the yard, the bricks were made with sharpie, and it could be tacked to the stairs. It was also not as slippery as regular cloth.
